Mediterranean Action Day 2002


 

Introduction

 

 

The Arab Office for Youth and Environment (AOYE) in the cooperation with the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO/ECSDE) undertook their great common annual event Mediterranean Action Day. 

 

 

It is considered one of the important celebrations, which AOYE is keen on organizing it every year.  Thus, the AOYE sought this year to conduct such a celebration under a motto “Art of Waste”. AOYE -as usual- aimed in targeting different location on the Mediterranean Sea sustaining its approach in seeking various actions allover the North Coast of Egypt.

 

AOYE chose for the Med Action Day 2002 Al- Arish City in North Sinai with full coordination and cooperation with the National Society for Environmental Protection that is one of the most active NGOs in North Sinai.

 


 

 

 

Date:  Tuesday, 17th of December 2002.

 

Location: Al-Arish City,   It is located in North Sinai Governorate and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.  The celebration has been held in collaboration with National Society for Environmental Protection  in Al-Arish city. 

 

Attendants :

 

- Mr. Alaa Abdallah Bodour, General Secretary for the North Sinai Governorate, on behalf of the North Sinai Governor.

 

-Dr. Mohamed Al-Said Gameel, Secretary General of AOYE on behalf of Dr. Emad Al-Din Adly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AOYE.

 

-Eng. Abdallah Al-Hegawy, Chairman of the Board of Directors for National Society for Environmental Protection  in Al-Arish city. 

 

-Director of Environment Affairs Department at Sinai governorate.

 

-Students, Environmental NGOs, Governmental Associations and Public.

 

- Number of Local Media Representatives and journalists.
