The Prize aims to
honor a distinguished individual or organization whose long
term and continual activities have aimed to benefit all
citizens by addressing critical water issues in developing
countries . These
include water and health issues such as sustaining safe
drinking water and preventing water contamination. The value
of the Prize is 5 million Japanese Yen (approximately 45,000
USD), to be used to continue the recipient's activities in
line with the object of the Prize or related purposes.

Water Conservation "NCWCP" Mission

The mission of NCWCP is to address the problem of potable water
loss, mainly, though conservation activities directed at the
national and local levels.
Theses activities will demonstrate the social, technical, and
economic feasibility of water conservation in Egypt and will support
long term conservation efforts.
Reducing potable water loss through behavioral change, industry
development, and other activities will allow allocated funds,
otherwise used for expansion of existing services, to be used
towards rehabilitation and maintenance of water supply system. Funds
would also be made available to supply water to areas currently in
need.
