Youth participation program    


 

In line with the state policy to enhance youth participation and also providing a job opportunity the HLS succeeded to gather about 15 volunteers from four universities (Hellwan, Cairo, Ain-shams and AL-Azhar) selected carefully from 50 candidates covers most of great Cairo regions, and this step is related with what had been done during the last universities’ youth meeting dated 5/11/2000  

  

 

 

Objectives


 

 

  • Increase the community awareness about the environmental problems and encourage public participation.  
  •  Making sure that is the Complaints are serious.

  •  Dessmesment the environmental awareness to the volunteers and the targeted communities to participate in protecting the surrounding environment 

  • Arranging the public seminars for the most suffering regions which aims to raise the community awareness towards the environmental problems.  
  • Acting as an advocate for better environmental conditions

 

 

 

This had been done through training program that contains the follows


 

 

  • Defining the environmental legalisations specially law 4-1994.
  • The most pressing environmental problems.
  • Writing a report.        

 

 

Results


 

 

 

1950 Complaints were viewed  

  • 1250 Complaints belonging to Cairo governorate

  • 520 complain belonging to Giza governorate.
  • 180 Complaints belonging to kalibeya governorate
 

 

About 950 complaints viewed before transmitting to the authorities to make sure that the complaints are serious.        

  • Raising the environmental awareness not only for the great Cairo residents but also to the volunteers themselves.
