National Environment Day In 1997

In 1997 the Arab Office for Youth and Environment took the initiative of proclaiming 27^th January of every year as the National Environment Day. This idea was given birth as the time.
The first celebration in 1997 was held in Sheraton Al-Gezira Hotel under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Atef Ebeid, Minister of State for Environmental Affairs at the time, and H.E. Dr. Hussein Kamal Bahaa El Din, Minister of Education. The event was a great success and was attended by a huge number of experts and intellects, among which included Dr. Mostafa Kamal Tolba and Dr. Abdel Fatah Elkasas

National Environment Day In 1998

In 1998, the celebration was held in the closed hall of Cairo Stadium under the auspices of H.E. Ms. Nadia Makram Ebeid, Minister of State for Environmental Affairs. A huge number of experts, head of universities and more than 1500 university students attended the event.

National Environment Day In 1999

In 1999, the celebration was again held in the closed hall of Cairo Stadium under the auspices of H.E. Ms. Nadia Makram Ebeid, Minister of State for Environmental Affairs and H.E. Minister of Social Affairs.

National Environment Day In 2000

In 2000, the event was held, in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, in Al Ahram Building, under the auspices of H.E. Dr. Atef Ebeid, Prime Minister. A large number of governmental representatives, experts, NGO members, media and university students attended the event.

Arab Environment Day:

Annual celebration of Arab Environmental Day (October 14th):

Environmental problems all over the Arab World and efforts to limit their impacts are reviewed.
Planning for environmental projects to be implemented by youth participants, such as forestation projects, are also discussed.

Ministers of different fields, representatives of UNEP and UNDP are invited to participate in this rare opportunity for exchanging ideas among environmental NGOs.

Representatives of Arab ambassadors and the League of Arab States also participate in these activities as a sign of Arab solidarity and integration where all join in a common activity for environmental upgrading.

World Environment Day :

Every year, AOYE celebrates the World Environment Day which is on the 5th June.
