Project Description

 

RAED, within this project, will address eight main environmental aspects in the implementation plan:

 

 

 

 

  • The research & technical aspect which will take care of the diagnosis of the status of the solid waste collection and recycling demonstration in the target urban areas.
  • The poverty alleviation aspect by creating new enterprises to the local communities and developing new market for the recycled products .
  • The media & public awareness campaign aspect which will be responsible for the direct and indirect environmental messages to the target groups.

 

 

 

  • The training aspect in conducting the relevant studies, training courses, operating, following up and evaluating the program activities.
  • The gender aspect as a very specific dimension which will increase the role of women in waste sorting, reusing and recycling as part of the overall waste collection & disposal system in the target communities.
  • The practical demonstration aspect which involves strengthening the training perception to better implement for the small businesses.

 

 

 

  • The sustainability aspect of the program which will evolve from the stakeholders and beneficiaries of this program, when the people who benefited from the conducted training and awareness programs become eager to form Community Based Organizations and companies to properly dispose solid waste.
  • The networking and coordination aspect of the program which will evolve from the coordination between the partners NGOs and RAED. This networking aspect will achieve the objective of promoting the South/South cooperation, developing relations and exchanges among the participating organizations and consequently their governments.
